Because of my involvement with my in-laws business (www.lapointedrainage.ca ) I have being versed on a brand new industry that is…way different from anything I have experienced.
I was at a Drainage convention last week and it was bizarre. For one I didn’t understand anything anybody said because the lingo of this industry is new to me and second because none of the presenters had any knowledge of the basics of presenting. This made for long presentations and too much coffee.
What is there to say about the drainage industry except it’s misunderstood if not completely unknown from the public in general!
I think 4 days away on business once in a while is actually a good thing for an entrepreneur. Traveling permits me to think beyond the day to day or the evident issues and really work on planning and the ideas germinates in my brain. The fact you also don’t have to deal with human resources also removes a lot of the clutter.
It is also a good reminder to enjoy your time with the kids as you miss them so much. I am pretty sure I am good for another 3 months now!
I was raised with three brothers and I can’t really comment on what it’s like to live as a single child. As you will see below, my kids don’t always get along but I think they do love each other.
If they don’t get along it will be most likely because…
Stalking his prey Alexis the 2 year old will stare down the object of affection of Zoé. Once the lovely Zoé leaves the said object unattended for more than 3 seconds, Alexis will jump on the said object and make a sprint for the nearest exit with a big grin on his face.
Zoé will then start to whine and cry and Alexis will wait until father asks’ him to render the said object to Zoé. He will then oblige and look for congratulations from father. Father will pat Alexis on the back and say thanks for shinning like a star.
This positive reinforcement will make Alexis stalk Zoé’s object of affection again so he can get another pat on the back.
If I could just find a way to congratulate him for not stealing things from his sister!
What is there to say about the past holidays’? I sincerely would like my whole 2008 to look like my holidays… Basically to take time to…
- Spend time with the kids
- Have a glass of wine with my spouse
- Spend time with friends and family
We went to the cottage on the 27th and it was as expected a drastic change of pace. On the first night, after putting the kids to bed, my sister sang as I played guitar in front of the fire. It had been a while since I had spent time with her and it was really great.
I would like to take the time to thank all my Electronic Time Capsule followers for 2007 and wish them all the best for 2008.
As for Electronic Time Capsule, we have some additions we will be doing this year, basically adding slowing to a strong foundation. Should you see something changed or added for 2008, don’t hesitate, send me your request at david@electronictimecapsule.com
