Pirates shirt is Louis, Yankees shirts is Phil and catcher (dodgers shirt you can’t see) is me…
Meet Phil…He is my older brother who knows it all! But I seriously think I know more about kids than him…
My spouse plays broomball on Monday nights and his wife works on Monday nights… So he decided to invite me for dinner! He finds it easier to take care of his son when there is other kids around to play with him.
I drove to get our souvlaki take out and came back 15 minutes after to find my son wearing his meal! Yep, hair and everything! I laughed it off as my older brother (who knows it all) mentioned my 14months old wasn’t too good with his spoon !
Well he is only 14 months old!

1. I didn’t drive with him in fron of me… Only Britneys’ of this world do that!
2. As I put him on the motorcycle, he grabbed the handlebars, started pulling and pushing and doing ‘hmmmmrrrrrrr, hmmmmrrr, hmmmmrrr’
3. Then my sub-concious primal brain took over. What if this kid’s unique ability was driving motorcycle. How can I choose to hold his development? Would it be that dangerous to let him try it out? So Yes , Yes , Yes I started the motorcycle and I could sense his happy little body shivering in anticipation, smelling the exhaust, the sweet smell of burning petrolum! My frontal lobes were eventually able to re-gain controle of my thoughts and my spouse came over to grab the kid.
I went for another ride in the sand pit and as I layed there at the bottom of a hill, bike on top of me, back wheel still running and rubbing my back, I couldn’t stop laughing at how Alexis might be in the same position 20 years from now.
Why did it make me feel alive? Why was I laughing? I can’t explain it… It’s one of those male traits I guess.

I am lucky and my kids are lucky.
See, I live with my in-laws… They are both 75 and the house is big enough that it doesn’t cause major issues. They also respect our privacy which has made all of this work.
Why am I so freakin lucky? My father in law was and still is a farmer. He gets up at 5h30, makes himself coffee and reads his newspaper. My son Alexis, usually gets up around 6h15 - 6h30 and my daughter Zoé very close thereafter. Jean-Guy loves to take both kids on his lap while they watch Dora and eat breakfeast. The only thing required from me is to make 2 toast, one half Nutella/peanut butter the other 100% peanut butter with juice and a banana each.
I can make my way back for a brief snooze with my spouse or get ready for work knowing the kids are spending quality time with Grandpa.
Why do I now reckognize I am lucky? Granpa is at the hospital, he had to get a new knee and he is doing fine. Yes there will be one day where he won’t be around, I am quite certain these precious mornings will be forever remembered by my kids.
As for me, I will continue to sacrifice myself every morning he wants to watch Dora and eat breakfeast with them
Here is a picture from September… Yeah I know we are now in November…it’s this DCS… Digital Camera Syndrom… You take a bunch of pictures and leave them on the camera for months until there is no more memory.
I strongly suppose I am not the only one… Maybe we can start a support group?
We played the whole weekend in the leaves…. rake, play, hide stuff in the leaves, find them… re-rake, play, hide stuff in the leaves… re-rake (you get the picture)…
p.s. I just love that shirt of hers.

Like any parents, We asked ourselves if we should have a second child. Well #2 is now 13 months and yes it has changed for the better. I know it’s easy to say since you can’t change the fact you have 2!!!
Zoé brings Alexis as an actor in every play story she elaborates. A second he is a handsome prince then the play changes and he has become an awful witch! She gets him to sit in his Plush Foam chair and places everybody around him. The moment she looks away he is up and gone!
All of this to say that I think having more than one child is a challenging 12 months after delivery…but it gets definitly easier after a while.
Agreed?
