LET ME BE!
Is this a male/female thing… or is it just a personality trait?
I dawned on me last night as my daughter (now 3) asked to be rocked. ‘I must be getting tall, my feet can now touch the wall’.
My daughter was the type of baby who wanted to be hugged. She wouldn’t fall asleep until I took her in my arms danced and sang 3 to 30 songs. I went to the computer and started the playlist and off I went in a mix of salsa, Tango and Cha Cha.
My boy (now 1) doesn’t want anything to do with this dancing, hugging or rocking. The only time he wants to cuddle up is when he wakes up in a grumpy mood from his afternoon nap. I have never slept with him cause he just won’t sleep! An interesting twist is he will jump on me, push me and play around with me. It’s pretty much only then that we have physical contact.
I think it’s just a personality trait….. Tough non-emotional buster…. Sensitive emotional flower… LOL! This is also the personality trait of me and my wife 
I am 31, a father of 2 (1&3.5). I own this great insurance agency with 7 great staff. I have worked in insurance for the last 8 years, first thing I did out of university.
So what’s an entrepreneur to do… Well I just sold it and I will be working half time for a growning construction company in which I am a partner in and the other half of my time will be spent on www.electronictimecapsule.com my latest creation.
I have thought about this for a while now… In the end, I am looking for that edge again.. The edge where everything is unstable and fluid… where the only certainty is uncertainty. It is what fuels me, it’s what drives me.
It was way easier 8 years ago when there was no spouse and kids. I had nothing to risk, nothing to lose. This time around it’s different…and that is what scares me a bit/a lot.
So call me crazy if you want (my spouse does!)… What has been your craziest carrer move?

I am always looking for things to do with my kids.. I always think of going places, seeing people when I have it all in the backyard….
By having it all, I mean 3 apple trees, a weeping willow and a river. As my daughter was discriminating the apples (worm/no worm), she decided the ‘worm’ apples would go in the river. I was watching her throw the apples with Alexis (1yr old). She walked back to me with this ‘I have something important to say’ face.
Daddy, apples can swim… They are swiming towards the bridge, say goodbye to them. And she left to pick up more apples!
The purity of innocence at it’s best… Usually I would have explained what is floating, what is swiming…but I dediced to sit back in the glow of the sun and watch my angel without a worry in the world pick up apples.
I know you are supposed to support your kids with their carreer choice… Well I know there is definitly some carreer choices I won’t support my daughter in! And this leads me to Rickshaws…
My sister and I own a Rickshaw company in Ottawa. She runs the whole show and I don’t have much to do with it. Until she called me last week because she was missing runners!
Well me and our vp marketing from Time Capsule got our running shoes and oxygen tank out and went for it. After 15minutes of running uphill…without anybody in the rickshaw, I was ready to throw up. I actually do quite a bit of cardio workouts and thought I would be fine…
It was an amazing race style event and my 2 passengers decided to highjack this old lady from Ottawa who knew all the locations they had to visit. I had a 220lbs man on one side a 200lbs man on the other side and maybe the granny was up to 90lbs…
They won the race hands down (but left granny a block behind the final location).
I actually liked the whole experience and I thinks this would be a wonderful job. What is the weirdest job you have done?
